Bodhisattva is a term used in Buddhism to refer to an individual who has achieved enlightenment, but delays their own personal nirvana in order to help others achieve it. The bodhisattva ideal is a central tenet in Mahayana Buddhism and is considered a virtuous and noble path for Buddhists to follow.
In the Buddhist tradition, Bodhisattva succeeded in waking up to the nature of Buddha. Bodhisattva gives an answer to help wake up to all beings in the Universe by understanding that exists only ONE consciousness. Practitioners are encouraged to emulate the qualities and actions of Bodhisattvas, aiming to develop compassion, wisdom, and other perfections in their own lives. The Bodhisattva path is seen as more inclusive and compassionate compared to the individual-focused goal of becoming an arhat in Theravada Buddhism, which emphasizes personal liberation.
Bodhisattvas practice the six perfections, which are essential qualities cultivated on the path to Buddhahood. These include: Generosity (Dana), Ethics (Shila), Patience (Kshanti), Effort (Virya), Concentration (Dhyana) and Wisdom (Prajna).
Bodhisattvas take vows to remain in the cycle of birth and death (samsara) until all beings are liberated. The most famous vow is that of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, who vowed to help all beings before achieving final Buddhahood.
To wake up the human real “Me”, the person must also wake up every being in the Universe. There are an endless amount of alive beings in the Universe, and I give the sacrifice to wake them all up. My limitations are inexhaustible, and I give my power to create them all. Dharma is unrecognizable, and I make a sacrifice to know her. The road of waking up is unreachable, and I make the sacrifice to reach it!
