A supranational union is a multinational political union where negotiated power is delegated to an authority by governments of member nation-states. As a new type of political entity, the European Union is the only entity that provides for international popular elections.
There are two main facets to supranationalism: normative supranationalism or the executive dimension and decisional supranationalism or the legislative-judicial dimension. The study of the peculiarities of the forms of the Supranational system by the form of confederal government is highly relevant today. It is evident that in recent times, different opinions are often expressed about new processes in developing forms of state-territorial structure in the world.
Example of Supranational government system
Another example of a Supranational system can be given in the Union States of Russia and Belarus, which has existed since 2000, with a gradually organized single political, economic, military, customs, currency, legal, humanitarian, market, and cultural space.
